Winter in Minnesota

Brian is a native of Wayzata Minnesota - growing up on Lake Minnetonka, swimming and boating in the summer and playing hockey and skiing in the winter.  It was a great place to grow up - safe and secure with the freedom to roam and explore.  Like most kids growing up in the 70's in Minnesota - he rode his bike until mom whistled for him to return.  He built snow forts with multiple rooms and engaged in brutal snowball fights with the neighborhood kids.

He attended Holy Name elementary, St. Bart's Middle School, Wayzata Jr. High and Benilde St. Margaret's for High School.  He went on to St. Norbert College in DePere WI for his undergraduate degree in Communications with a true major in Beer Studies.  He would never claim to have been an extraordinary student - he never really pushed his potential.  That came when he attended Regis University for his Masters in Operations and Strategy where he graduated top of his class with a 4.0.  He continued his education at the University of Notre Dame advancing his education in Negotiations and Conflict resolution.

He eventually joined a small team at Acceller based in Miami, FL where they grew revenue from $4M to nearly $50M over 8 years.  Brian eventually rose to the position of Chief Revenue Officer where he had full responsibility for all sales, marketing and relationship management teams.  Acceller sold to it's rival - Bridgevine in Spring of 2014.  Brian's analytical and strategic mild allowed him to accelerate his professional career elevating his success and credibility in developing strategic relationships that significantly advanced growth for companies like CenturyLink, AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Time Warner, Frontier, AOL, CNET and MSN.

Brian redirected his focus to leveraging his significant professional relationships to launch an independent consulting practice where he extended his reputation of being able to quickly and easily reach in to an organization and identify immediate and long-term growth strategies.  His clients successes spanned across a number of private and public companies in a variety of industries including consumer products, online e-tailers, financial services and healthcare.

Recruited out of private consulting, Brian accepted a position working for Swedish Medical Center, as the Vice President of Orthopedics where he was charged with implementing an Advanced Joint Replacement program to grow the critical orthopedic service line as well as expanding Orthopedic Trauma outreach.  His creative and fresh perspective easily offset his perceived lack of traditional healthcare experience to rapidly grow orthopedics and trauma at SMC led to Brian’s promotion as VP of Orthopedics, Neurosciences and Spine - the largest services lines, at the largest hospital, in one of the most important divisions for HCA.

The continued improvements in the already internationally recognized Stroke Program at Swedish lead to the creation of the “Swedish Neurosciences Institute” - a proposed regional “co-operative” to drive clinical improvements in rural stroke care and Brian’s final Hospital promotion to Senior Vice President, Business Development.

After nearly 5 years of consistent success, Brian was asked to assume the role of Vice President, Neurosciences, Orthopedics and Spine for the entire HealthONE division overseeing the strategic planning and execution at 9 hospitals across the Continental Division. In this capacity, Brian assists the hospital executive leadership identify growth opportunities that will drive new profitability and quality program improvements.

In 2022, at just 51, Brian felt a calling to turn away from traditional executive expectations and look for fulfillment in his family and volunteer activities and not through traditional measurements of titles or financial success. Electing to take time off from executive level responsibilities, today, Brian is focused on his family and exploring personal passions including his pursuit of his SCUBA Rescue Diver and Dive Master certifications.

Brian continues to develop professional relationship that help hospitals and health care practitioners identify incremental opportunities for revenue growth and market expansion. As with his experience in Telecommunications, Brian’s relationships with healthcare executives has lead to a number of consulting a speaking opportunities - Brian’s fresh perspective and straight talk unincumbered by corporate speak helps people quickly hear the truth and find a path forward.

Brian is married to the love of his life, Trista where they raise their combined family of 4 kids from middle school to college age.  Together, Trista and Brian enjoy hiking in the outdoors of Colorado and SCUBA diving in the warm Caribbean waters.
